Niches are Bitches

Let me fit the complexity of me

Into a niche, a tidy box that is no longer free

Watch as I deteriorate

As I flounder in the loss of me

A me who once delighted in the complexity

Who forever sought the things that meant the world

To my expansive, enlightened, curious mind

That is now dull and grey and full of things that have lost meaning

Things that point to an end

An end that finds me shallow and soulless

But then I look around and see I'm not alone

There are many here with me, seeking the same

There's a beauty in rebuilding what once was quite known

Aliveness in seeing that this is our home

A place to discover, embrace, and explore

All the depths of our knowledge, understanding, and soul

There is space for us all, outside of the boxes

That have kept us apart from ourselves and each other

This space is complex, not binded by time

A space unconfined by glamour and gore

We will step out together and say

This time is mine to be free and alive.
